The CWFL Hybrid Fellowship is a one-year fellowship program for women of faith seeking to advance their leadership, as they advocate for the vulnerable and marginalized. As women of faith, we bring unique perspectives and innovative responses to the needs of vulnerable groups around the world. The Fellowship provides a platform to empower and elevate the voice of women of faith, in order to effectively advocate for the marginalized among us.
The Hybrid Fellowship offers both in-person and online learning experiences that are built on three core focus areas:
Interpersonal psycho-social groups: These groups offer participants the opportunity to explore their identity as women of faith in a safe and supportive space. By exploring life experiences, cultural expectations, religious influences, and ultimately the question of “Who am I?”, participants gain greater resiliency as individuals in the midst of ongoing personal and professional challenges.
Skill-building: Training sessions focused on leadership skill building, help women not only gain a seat at influential tables, but also utilize that seat to its full potential. Sessions have focused on topics such as negotiation skills, public speaking, networking, mentorship, strategic planning, and many more.
Experiential self-care: What is the use of advancing the leadership of women of faith, if they quickly suffer from burn-out and compassion fatigue? Through the CWFL Hybrid Fellowship, we focus on sustainable leadership practices that focus on wellness practices such as mindfulness, yoga therapy, therapeutic massage, art therapy, self-compassionate response, helping skills, and many more. Through these practices, we not only learn how to honor ourselves as the Imago Dei, but also learn how to pass these skills on to other women struggling to lead sustainably.
The 2020 CWFL Hybrid Fellowship cohort will include 8-10 women of faith from around the world. The cohort will meet for 2 in-person week-long workshops in Washington, D.C. (May 2020) and Hanoi, Vietnam (September 2020), as well as 10 synchronous online learning webinars. The Fellowship experience will conclude with a final Capstone Project, where participants are mentored by CWFL staff and Advisory Council members.
